The basics
What is CS Clipdle?
CS Clipdle is a free daily guessing game built around professional Counter-Strike. Each day there is one blurred match clip, and you have five tries to name the player in it along with their team, the year and the map.
Alongside it, CS Top 10 gives you a ten-place Counter-Strike list to fill in from memory. Every mode resets daily, and there are no accounts.
Is CS Clipdle a Counter-Strike quiz?
It is a set of daily Counter-Strike trivia games rather than one quiz with a score out of ten. CS Clipdle asks you to identify a pro from a blurred clip; CS Top 10 is closer to classic trivia, giving you a ranked Counter-Strike list to name from memory.
None of them is timed and none needs an account. A new round of each goes live every day.
Is CS Clipdle a Counter-Strike dle, like Wordle?
Yes - CS Clipdle is a daily "-dle" game for Counter-Strike: one puzzle a day, the same for everyone, five tries, and a share grid that never gives the answer away.
Instead of a word, you guess the pro from a blurred clip, along with their team, the year and the map.
Is CS Clipdle free, and do I need an account?
CS Clipdle is free and there is no account to create. Nothing is behind a login, and there are no affiliate links.
Your progress, your streak and your settings live in your own browser rather than on a server.
Does CS Clipdle work on mobile?
Yes. It is the same website rather than an app, laid out to fit a phone screen, so there is nothing to install and nothing to keep updated.
Progress is stored per browser, so playing on your phone and on your desktop gives you two separate streaks.
When does a new puzzle come out?
Every mode rolls over at 00:00 UTC. That is the same instant worldwide, so the puzzle you are playing is the one everyone else is playing, whatever your timezone.
Because the day is fixed to UTC rather than your local clock, the changeover can land mid-evening or mid-morning depending on where you are.
Playing CS Clipdle
How do you play CS Clipdle?
You watch a heavily blurred clip from a professional Counter-Strike match and name four things about it: the player, their team, the year and the map. Each one is a searchable dropdown rather than a text box, so spelling never counts against you.
You get five guesses. A guess submits all four columns at once, and every guess you spend sharpens the clip a little further.
What do the colours mean after a guess?
Green means that column is correct and locked in for the rest of the round, so you do not have to enter it again. Red means wrong - try something else. Every colour also carries a symbol - a tick, a cross, or ≈ for close - so you never have to rely on colour alone.
Amber appears in the year column only. It means you are in the right era but not on the exact year, so nudge it up or down. An amber year does not lock, because a close year is still a wrong one and locking it would freeze you onto an answer you cannot correct.
Does the clip ever become fully clear?
Not while you are still playing. The blur drops with each of your five guesses, but even the fifth and clearest stage keeps a little of it. The badge in the corner of the clip shows how much is left, from Blur 5/5 on your first guess down to 1/5 on your last.
The clip only plays completely unblurred once the round is over, on the endgame replay.
Can I make the clip bigger?
Yes. On a computer, Theatre (or the T key) moves the guess panel under the clip so the clip takes the full width of the page, and Fullscreen (or the F key) fills the screen. Both buttons sit under the clip once it is playing.
The blur scales with the clip, so a bigger clip is easier to see but no easier to guess. Theatre is remembered for your next visit. Fullscreen works wherever your browser allows it, which does not include Safari on iPhone.
Which years can a clip be from?
Clips run from 2012 to the present, so the year column covers the whole of CS:GO and CS2.
Where do the clips come from?
Every clip is a YouTube embed of a professional match VOD, usually from the event organiser’s own channel. The footage is never re-hosted - it plays from YouTube throughout, with the blur applied over the top.

Playing CS Top 10
What is CS Top 10?
CS Top 10 is the second daily mode, and the closest thing here to straight Counter-Strike trivia: a ten-place list - players, teams, maps, weapons or Major events - that you fill in from memory.
Search a name and pick it, and a correct answer drops straight into its own rank. You never have to work down the list in order.
Do wrong guesses cost anything in CS Top 10?
No. CS Top 10 has no lives and no timer, so you can guess as often as you like.
If you run dry you can give up at any point and see the entries you missed.
What does Reveal Nationalities do?
On boards made up of players, switching on Reveal Nationalities puts a flag against every rank, including the ones you have not found yet.
It is free, it does not change your result, and you can switch it back off whenever you like.
Playing CS Ace
What is CS Ace?
CS Ace is a daily multiple-choice Counter-Strike trivia game: five questions, each with four options and one correct answer. Get all five right and you have an ace.
There are no lives - everyone answers all five. The questions get harder as you go, and the weapon on each one shows how hard: AWP, AK-47, MP9, Desert Eagle, then the Gold Karambit.
Can I play previous CS Ace days?
No. CS Ace is one set of five questions a day, and past days are not replayable - a new set goes live at 00:00 UTC.
It keeps its own streak, separate from CS Clipdle, which grows each day you finish all five questions, whatever your score.
Playing CS Overtime
What is CS Overtime?
CS Overtime is an endless Counter-Strike clip quiz about when: pro clips from every era of CS:GO and CS2.
You see a clip and its year, then a new clip plays: was it from earlier or later? Call it right and the new clip becomes the clip to call. One wrong call ends the run, and you can play as many runs as you like.

Why are parts of the clip blurred in CS Overtime?
Broadcasts print the event name and year on screen, so CS Overtime blurs the parts where they usually appear. The rest of the clip plays clear.
Archive, streaks and sharing
Can I play previous puzzles?
Yes, for CS Clipdle and CS Top 10. Each has an archive you can open from the calendar, and every past day has its own link - csclipdle.com/?day=32 for CS Clipdle, csclipdle.com/top-ten/32 for CS Top 10. Every CS Top 10 board is also listed at csclipdle.com/top-ten/boards.
The calendar marks each day as solved, failed, unfinished or unplayed, so the ones you walked away from are easy to find again. Day numbers are tied to the calendar rather than to a position in a list, so a link you share today still opens the same puzzle in a year.

How do I share my result without spoiling it?
Copy Result puts an emoji grid and a link to that exact puzzle on your clipboard, and never a name. A CS Clipdle result reads "CS Clipdle #32 (3/5)" followed by one row per guess - four squares covering player, team, year and map. A CS Top 10 result reads "CS Top 10 #29 — 7/10" followed by ten squares, one per rank.
No result carries the answers, so anyone you send it to can still play the same puzzle cold. The Top 10 grid leaves out how many wrong guesses you made on purpose, because that mode is penalty-free.
Does CS Clipdle track a streak?
Yes, and it lives in your browser rather than on a server. It counts the days in a row you finish the daily clip, win or lose, and the Stats button on the board shows it alongside your best streak and how many guesses your wins usually take. CS Top 10 does not keep a streak.
Your progress on every day you have played, your streak, whether you have seen the How to Play screens and your settings are all stored locally.
Clearing your browser storage clears all of it, including the streak.
What data does CS Clipdle store about me?
There are no accounts, so nothing stored identifies you personally. When you submit your first guess we create a random device ID so we can count how many people come back day to day, alongside which mode and puzzle you played and how it went.
You can switch that off, and the game works exactly the same with it off.
We also use Google Analytics to count page views. In the UK and EU it only runs if you accept the cookie banner; elsewhere it is on unless you switch it off. Either way it can be changed in Settings.
